Samuel Maizel

Samuel Maizel, a partner at Dentons US LLP in Los Angeles, has been named a super lawyer. The list recognizes the best attorneys in a particular practice area. Among his many accomplishments are serving as lead counsel in chapter 11 cases, trustees, consumer privacy ombudsman, and bankruptcy ombudsman. Suzanne Hennessy

As a member of the California Society of healthcare attorneys, Suzanne Hennessy focuses her practice on all matters related to health law and insurance. She was recently selected to the list of Super Lawyers for 2019 – 2022, an exclusive ranking of top attorneys in different practice areas. Hennessy has a varied background, attending the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and Hastings College of Law. She is a member of the American Heart Association, serving on its board from 2012 to the present. She served on the board of directors of the Fairytale Town Theme Park and served as committee chair for CREW. She has also served on the board of the California State Bar’s UCC Committee, and the Alaska Supreme Court from 1983 to 1984.

Levi Long

In addition to being a renowned healthcare attorney, Levi Long is also a licensed dentist and OB/GYN. As such, he understands the challenges physicians face when running their businesses. He also founded Pacific Health Law Group to provide legal solutions for these complex situations. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Levi attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. Before entering the health care field, Long worked for the California Medical Association as the Association’s Director of Litigation and Legal Counsel. He developed an exemplary statewide reputation as the lead attorney on the CMA’s lobbying and regulatory teams. He has appeared in state and federal courts across California and has argued cases in the California Supreme Court. He has also lectured on health care law and managed care.

Levi Long is a doctor and a lawyer

Licensed to practice law in 1993, Long has extensive experience advocating for the provider community. He focuses his practice on commercial managed care, healthcare insurance, and physician group formation. He is also a recognized expert on medical staff governance and the corporate practice of medicine. Long also has over two decades of practical legal experience in both the criminal and civil courts. He has a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. in public health from the University of Michigan.

Despite his unique background, Levi Long has assisted healthcare professionals in California in a range of legal matters. His experience includes the representation of physicians and other health care providers in malpractice and regulatory proceedings. He is a member of the California Society of Healthcare Attorneys, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Health Law Section of the American Bar Association. He has helped numerous doctors and medical groups navigate the legal issues that often arise in their daily practices.

Mr. Phillips is a past-President of the California Society of Healthcare Attorneys

Before joining the firm in 1993, Mr. Phillips served as a naval officer on sea duty for four years. He later earned his MBA from Hardin-Simmons University and a Master of Health Care Administration from Trinity University. In addition to his legal experience, Mr. Phillips has taught health care law at UCLA and Whitman College. In 2008, he was named one of the top 23 health care lawyers in California.
